CyFlo™ Filter
The CyFlo™ filter is a depth media filter that offers substantial economic and physical benefits over a down flow media filter. Its rules of filtration identical to that of a normal down flow media filter, but the washing of media is completed in a very different manner, as it is cleaned in an external wash vessel facilitated by the DPS patent applied for CyFlo™ fluidiser.
Benefits include:
- Reduced wash water volumes, concentrated wash water stream, reduce the size of sea water lift pumps and the associated pipelines to them, therefore allowing more treated water to report to the process
- Reduces electric loads, MCC size and power cable size
- Feed Water Lines to the fine filter package can be reduced in size
- No gas scour is required to agitate the media during
washing, making considerable savings and offering the
opportunity to make the package safe area rated
- Skid size is smaller and lighter than conventional filters
- All wash system actuated valves are smaller, typically 2 inch pinch
valves, this ensures that valve maintenance and instrument air requirements
are
less than conventional systems
- There is minimal filtration media loss due to controlled washing
system and use of hard spherical ceramic media
- The media can also be changed without vessel entry
- Normally no requirement for coarse filter
