Scope of responsibilities

This role will be responsible for product development and reporting in all of DPS’s products range.  The work will involve hands-on R&D, also providing specialist knowledge supporting proposals for example electrostatic coalescer water treatment packages.  The engineer is expected in a product role to support the execution of projects won and present technical material to interested groups.

Primary Duties:

  • Validation of new products through hands-on testing, data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Prototype and production design work using various engineering principles
  • Contribute to discussion forums on new product concepts, design, applications etc
  • Produce regular progress reports. Participate in R&D review meetings
  • Maintain and modify test rigs, upkeep of laboratory equipment
  • Following of product stagegate system
  • Assist in technical training of products to DPS staff and clients
  • Commissioning and support, onshore or offshore worldwide
  • Contribute to product documentation, for example generic priced quotations
  • Assist Project Managers in technical role for execution of projects
  • Support Product Manager and Product Engineers / Scientists as required
  • Adhere to DPS HSE and QA procedures as well as applicable design codes / standards

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

A minimum of a PhD in Chemical Engineering.

Experience & Competency
  • Experience in a similar oil, gas or product role
  • Excellent work ethics typified by HSE, QA, budget control, planning and meeting deadlines
  • Experience in authoring detailed product design guides. Problem solver
  • Methodical, scientific approach to testing. Well organised preferable
  • Technical mind having ability to conceive new product innovations
  • Technical presenting in front of specialist subject groups
  • Mobile having flexible approach to travel
  • Competent in IT for interpretation of engineering information and documenting
  • Good technical communicator in English, both written and verbally. Able to learn quickly
  • Enthusiastic team player who is able to participate with a good attitude at all levels
