Hydrocyclone package for PetroVietnam Kamari FSO
Case study
Fast track project for engineering and procurement of a de-oiling hydrocyclone package, teaming up with ASL Shipyard Pte Ltd for construction and installation.

FSO: Kamari
Client: ASL / PetroVietnam
Location: Vietnam
Capacity: 40ppm Oil in Water content
The skid mounted package was designed to treat produced water from the cargo tanks prior to overboard disposal. The project schedule, however, was very demanding with a 6 week delivery to ASL's facilities. In order to do this, critical items were identified, ordered and expedited by the project team using previously established working relationships with vendors.
In addition, DPS had to accelerate ABS design approval and vessel certification; effective and timely communication being the key.
On a technical level, the challenge was to minimise marine piping runs and deck penetrations whilst maintaining access for operation and liner removal - this included combining closed drain and oily rejects piping.
Overall, effective project management and initial design ensured this package was successfully delivered in 5 weeks rather than months.
DPS demonstrated considerable skill from the initial site survey through to the final delivery and we would be happy to consider DPS for future production skids and modules. (ASL Executive Director)
